This was the headboard of the bed of my mother, who was a widow. She got this after the president of Caterpillar Americas proposed to her. She accepted, but he died before they could marry. She gave up and bought this more feminine bedroom piece. She used to drape a silky, sheer blue piece of cloth across the epaulettes on each side and at the top. This is either wrought iron or cast iron. The headboard simply screws together to the frame. The mattresses are not included. There are wheels on the frame, which is very easy to put together and is very strong.  You can pickup this item locally or we can have the UPS Store crate it and ship it at the buyer's cost in which case, the item must be paid for up front.
