The cello in this post is cello number 2, on the left side of the photo.

It is an Matteo Goffriller 1693 Model, m
ade in Romania, in Reghin by
Luthier Dumitru Pop
who owns a
private family business in his hometown and has 35 years of experience in
making violins, violas, cellos and double basses
and is now followed by his
daughters.
• The
cello
is handmade from
Carpathian
wood (maple
and spruce), it has a beautifully flamed
bottom
, straight, clean fiber
in the spruce used for the top,
flamed
maple used for the ribs. The wood used is
dry
for
over
12
years before use. The
cello
is made to standard
measurements but any instrument we make can be made to measures and preferences
if needed.
• The year of construction is
20
23
and the instrument
com
es
with
a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the violinmaker.
•
The set up is made with Thomastik Spirocore + Versum strings, Akusticus Tailpiece, Glasser Carbon Endpin, Dumitru Pop bridge and soundpost set up for the best sound.
• The cello is played for a few weeks so the sound is being slightly developed.
