FANCY HENRY MATTHEWS STERLING SILVER VICTORIAN HEAVY REPOUSEE' HAND MIRROR

Description

This is an Estate Fresh old Victorian Hand Mirror that is classic Victorian style made by the Henry Matthews Silver Co ca 1890 - 1900.  It boasts a Beautiful HEAVY Repousee' Clam Shell Fans with Flowers with Filigree and Leaves on the mirror back and down the handle and all over.  The Sterling Silver work is big typical Matthews Flowers and Filigree, all of this with Deep Heavy Relief or Reposee' work.   The Mirror itself is Beveled Glass and yes, sadly, its cracked.  Yet its crystal clear with no shadowing or ghosting in the mirror or glass.  Its Really beautiful.  The mirror back is marked with all the Hall marks that pretty much nail it as Matthews.  Its just wonderful.  The mirror back does NOT have any monogram.  The mirror is 10" long and 4 1/8" widest at the top and its about 3/4" thick at the handle.  Its got a great Feel to it and good and stable.  I know its not all Sterling cuz the glass is heavy, but this beauty weighs over 312g.
