The Challenge Coin tradition started years ago and they remain extremely popular today. They developed as a way to show identification or affiliation with a certain group or organization, but they could also be a simple statement of values. It is the tradition to always carry your Challenge Coin. The rule is enforced by the “challenge,” in which any other member can request, at any time, that the coin be presented.
